Abigail Stopher - Ballet & Contemporary Teacher
I started dance class at the age of 3 and quickly fell in love with it taking classes at Yvette Twinn School of Theatre Dance and CPA Studios. At age 10 I auditioned for Anna du Boisson at the West London School of Dance and age 13 I gained a scholarship to attend her full time Vocational school, The Young Dancers Academy (YDA) in London. I auditioned for the Royal Ballet School Associate Programme and became a Mid Associate and then a Senior Associate until I was 16. During this time I danced in yearly productions of Anna du Boisson’s The Nutcracker at the Bloomsbury Theatre. I danced the lead roles of Clara age 13 and the Princess age 16 with Yat-Sen Chang, former Principal Dancer of The English National Ballet. I graduated from YDA and was offered a place at Central School of Ballet where I studied for three years gaining a BA Honours Degree in Professional Dance and Performance. In my final year I toured throughout the UK ending at The Edinburgh Fringe. We danced pieces by well known choreographers, such as Stacy Haynes, Chris Marney and Christopher Bruce. I have always loved teaching and have commenced my teaching career with Fun and Funky Dance. I am excited for the future to share my knowledge and love of dance with my students and helping them to gain their full potential through dance!
